Mack World Headquarters, Friday, February 29th
- § Dates and Times:
- - Pre-weigh-in, Camp Spirit, 1-3 pm, Sunday, February 24th
- - Pre-registration deadline, Tuesday, February 26th
- - Derby Night, Friday, February 29th
- ü 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Final registration
- ü 6:30 p.m. Racing begins!
- § We will follow the North Valley District Pinewood Derby Rules (on the other side) for specifications on the cars.
- § A pre-weigh in will be held at Camp Spirit, please take advantage of this time to have your car evaluated before race night. Attendance at the pre-weigh in will automatically pre-register you for racing.
- § If you cannot attend the pre-weigh in PLEASE call Phil Martin at 610-530-9564 to register.
- § Your Cub Scout MUST BE PRESENT TO RACE.
- § Your Cub Scout MUST BE IN UNIFORM TO RACE.
- § If your Cub Scout cannot attend, he may still enter a car for judging - please let us know at check in if the car is not racing.
- § We have a lot of scouts and we will move along as quickly as possible, but it will still be a long night - just so you know……
- § Back again this year!! We will have an “extra” bracket during intermission. This will be an open bracket for siblings (younger or older) and fathers or mothers who wish to make a car. The same rules will apply (not over 5 oz, etc). The way these races will be run will depend on the number of entries. In order to run in the open bracket, YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER!!!
As a review of the way we run the races…
- § Every scout will race three times to determine his overall average race time. This is not a head-to-head race with a “winner” per race. The scouts are racing to determine their overall average time after three races.
- § Every attempt will be made to randomize races to assure each scout races on as many tracks as possible.
- § The fastest 16 overall race times will determine which scouts enter the finals bracket.
- § The finals bracket is a double-elimination bracket with randomized races to assure each scout races on as many tracks as possible.
- § The top 5 finishers qualify for the North Valley District Pinewood Derby, on March 29th, 2007. If your Cub Scout is one of the lucky winners, we will let you know more about that then. Pack 72 uses the North Valley District’s rules, so if your scout’s car qualifies for us, it should qualify for them.
