Mr. McPeek Status Update 3

Well it has been a little while since my last email to all of you. It has been quiet here in California with a lot of sailors taking some well deserved time off before our deployment. We will be back to our normal routine tomorrow. I was allowed to take 96 hours of special liberty, and Cindy made it out here for that time off which was great. I know it has been less than 2 months since I have seen her, however it sure did lift my spirits. We got to spend some time with family and friends, took a trip to Seaworld and toured the USS Midway. We had a great time and I was sad to see her go. Next time I will see her in person will be sometime in December.
So my time here in California is coming to an end and should be heading overseas to the Middle East at the end of the month. The remaining time here will consist of spending some time on the shooting range with my M16, and getting my desert gear issued. Reality is setting in, we are heading into some dangerous areas. PLEASE, keep my family and all of our servicemembers past and present in your prayers
