Good Sunday Morning To All of You!!!

Well I hope this email finds you all well and enjoying your summer months. For all the parents I bet you are really looking forward to school starting, sorry kids school is right around the corner! In talking with my son Brandon he is really looking forward to going back to school this year, says it gets boring over the summer and really likes hanging out with his friends at school.

Well, we are offically at 85 days left here in country, after that we head to Kuwait for transition briefings (dont kick the dog that kind of stuff), then to CA to process out. Then home!!!! Really looking forward to it! Should be home around December 1st!

The weather is starting to cool down out here, during the day it is around 105 and at night drops down to mid 70s. I was telling Cindy, I had to stand watch is an AC conditioned room and it was 70 degrees in there and I had to put on a sweatshirt and a beanie to stay warm. HOW MESSED UP IS THAT!!!! At 70 degrees I am shivering. I am going to be hating life when I get back to PA and its below freezing!!

I wanted to thank you all for the care packages. Between my roomate and I our room is starting to look like the Walmart snack isles! But it is great to know that people back home are thinking of you and wishing you well. It makes it all worth while!

I have attached 2 photos, the first one was taken in my armored vest, it weights approximately 50 pounds, and the second one is with my Communications team, we are a lean team, usually the team would be of at least 20 people, however due to the work that the Battalion is doing to took us down to the bare minimum, and this is what we have left. So we are working extremely long hours and usually its seven days a week. It is tiresome, however the days are flying by and I will be home before I know it!

Take care guys and thanks again for thinking of me!!!

See you all in December!!

Doug
