Fogelsville Cub Scout Pack 72

The most fun you’ll ever have! A large part of the Cub Scouting program is all the activities you participate in. Besides the regular den and pack meetings, you’ll participate in den activities (go-see-its and field trips), pack activities, and council-wide activities. Many activities happen every year – some of those are listed below, in the order in which they occur in the scouting year, with a few links to more information.

For the latest activities and events information, visit the activities news page.

Back to Pack. The first pack meeting of the year, at the end of August, just to have fun and to get to know the new scouts who joined over summer.

Fall Cub Event. Annual council event at Akelaland, includes a day full of traditional camp activities (BB and archery, crafts, fishing, campfire cooking), with optional family camping the nights before and after. A great way to get to know Akelaland, where you may be going to Resident Camp in summer.

Mother-Son Camp-In. Spend a winter night at Hassen Creek Lodge with a bunch of cubs and moms. Games galore, and a movie, too.

Scout Sunday. Boys from our pack attend and help out at a local church service.

Blue & Gold Banquet. The February pack meeting is a celebration of cub scouting. Enjoy dinner and entertainment with your families.

Pinewood Derby. Build a racecar out of a block of pine, dress it up real spiffy, and race it down a track.  The boys with the fastest cars at the pack competition move on to the regional event.

Arrow of Light. The pack meeting in March is reserved for this ceremony, celebrating the graduation of second-year Webelos Scouts from cubscouting, and their crossing over into the Boy Scout Troop.

Cubmobile. Teamwork at its best! Cubmobiles are wooden cars, built to seat one cub scout, with three others pushing as hard as they can from behind.  One Saturday in April, Pack 72 competes against other packs from the area in such events as longest roll, serpentine, and the all-out final relay.

Graduation. Another special pack meeting: in April, the Tiger, Wolf, and Bear Cubs move up a rank, and the first-year Webelos Scouts enter their final year of cub scouting, in which they pick a patrol name.

Luau. This special all-family get-together is held on a weekend day, with good food, fun, and games. We also invite families of prospective new cub scouts to join and see what our pack is all about.

Father-Son Campout. Overnight camping at Camp Spirit for cubs and their dads, with a campfire of course, and other rambunctious fun. Held on a June weekend, Saturday into Sunday.

Resident Camp. For many cub scouts, this is the week they look forward to all year. Pack 72 camps out at Akelaland for five action-packed days in July – returning tired, smelly, and with big smiles on their faces.

Day Camp. Two of Minsi Trails Council’s Cub Scout Day Camps take place at Camp Spirit – with many of the same fun activities as Resident Camp, but without the overnight camping.
