			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A contingent of Cub Scouts and Leaders from Pack and Troop 72 attended the Memorial Day Service at Fogelsville St. John&#8217;s UCC cemetary. <p>Can you please forward the hoagie sale paper to the Pack?  The hoagie sale will be in May. The orders are due to me no later than May 9. We will assemble the hoagies on Wed evening May 18. Please plan to help with the making of the hoagies. You will be able to take your hoagies with you when we are finished.  All profits from the hoagie sale will be directed to your son&#8217;s account. We usually make roughly $1.50-$2.00/hoagie as profit. So sell as many as you can!!!!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Parents and Den Leaders,</p>
<p>Here are some additional details for the upcoming Cubmobile which will be held on Sunday, April 17<sup>th</sup>.  While a flyer is attached, here is more information you can use to begin your preparations.</p>
<p><strong>Date:</strong>                     Sunday, April 17<sup>th 2011</sup></p>
<p><strong>Time:</strong>                    Registration at 1:30 pm with races to start at 2:00 pm.</p>
<p><strong>Location:</strong>             Computer Aid Inc parking lot &#8212; 1320 Hausman Road, Allentown</p>
<p><strong>What is Cubmobile?</strong></p>
<p>Cubmobile is very fun event that is held each spring. It involves 6 different events with boy-powered + boy-driven wooden carts. </p>
<p><strong>What are the Cubmobile events?</strong></p>
<p>Cubmobile involves the following six events:</p>
<ul>
<li>Drag Race : timed sprint event covering 90’</li>
<li>Longest Roll : measured event to see which cubmobile (w/ driver) can be pushed furthest</li>
<li>Endurance Run : timed event in an oval layout</li>
<li>Start – Go – Start – Go – Stop : timed event including knot tying skills</li>
<li>Serpentine Challenge : timed event testing steering skills</li>
<li>Relay Race : a head-to-head elimination race held as the last race of the day</li>
</ul>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>How does our den form a Cubmobile team?</strong></p>
<p>Each Cubmobile event requires four scouts – one driving and three pushing.  While it is possible to compete with three strong scouts, four is much better.  I recommend that teams be anywhere between 4 and 7 scouts.  Teams with more than 4 scouts can have the scouts take turns participating in the different events.  Each scout is required to wear a bicycle helmet during the event.  Teams can include more than four scouts, although each race only involves four scouts.  Generally scouts take turns driving so that each scout has a chance to drive for one event.</p>
<p><strong>Where can we get a cubmobile?</strong></p>
<p>Mr. Heckendorn, Mr. Cope and I delivered the cubmobiles to the Camp Spirit basement yesterday.  At your earliest opportunity, please claim a cubmobile for your team(s).  There is a roll of duct tape and a Sharpie marker  in the basement near the cubmobiles.  Write your den number on the duct tape and stick it to your cubmobile. There are a couple of <strong>orange </strong>cubmobiles that are marked specifically for use by Tigers.  Please do not claim one of these unless you are a Tiger den.  If we have a really good turnout, we can schedule teams so that cubmobiles can be shared.</p>
<p><strong>What should we be doing between now and the Cubmobile?</strong></p>
<p>As soon as you can, please:</p>
<ul>
<li>Visit Camp Spirit and claim your cubmobile(s).</li>
<li>Inspect your cubmobile(s) and make sure they are in good working order.</li>
<li>Paint or decorate your cubmobile (part of the Art Belt Loop/Pin!)</li>
<li>Practice, either at Camp Spirit or other facility if you are able to transport your cubmobile.</li>
<li>Find one or two parents who will volunteer to help setup and time the event.  We cannot hold this event without volunteers and the volunteers should not be leaders or popcorn den reps.</li>
</ul>

<p>If you would like me to attend your den meeting to help with practice, let me know and I will do my best to make it.</p>
