Den assignments
At each pack meeting there are roles that are filled by a particular den. The cubmaster publishes a schedule of den assignments early on in the scouting year (see assignments for 2009/2010).
Typical assignments include:
Greeting/setup
Help with getting the benches arranged in the packhouse, and hand out flyers or other materials to scouts and families as they arrive. Den members are asked to arrive early (between 6:00 and 6:15 pm).
Colors
The den presents the colors (flags) at the opening of the pack meeting, and leads the opening ceremony.
Song/Skit
Prepare a song/skit at preceding den meetings, and present it to the pack. There are lots of ideas online (see some of the websites linked here) for songs and skits - both tried and true, and something new.
Cleanup
Den member families stay after the meeting to help store the benches and tidy up the pack house.
