Loops and Pins
The Cub Scout Academic and Sports program is a supplemental enrichment program that complements the Cub Scout advancement track. Boys are awarded belt loops and/or pins to recognize them for developing new skills, enjoying teamwork and discovering and building new talents.Â
For those scouts who would like to earn a belt loop or pin, the following subjects are available:
Academics

Each Activity has two levels of achievement:
Belt Loop: Basic introduction to concept
Pin: Continued involvement in concept
Requirements For Sports Belt Loops:
1. Explain the rules of __________ to your leader or other adult.
2. Spend at least 30 minutes practicing ________ skills.
3. Play a game of _________.
Each of the Academic requirements are unique to that activity.

Some Dens will earn beltloops/Pins as a group, but everyone can earn them on their own time with their families. When your son has completed the belt loop requirements, please advise your den leader so he/she can submit it to the Pack.Â
Your Den leader may have a copy of the Academic and Sports program for you and your son to review.Â

Payment for the Loops/Pins:
There is a $2 charge for each pin or loop - this can comes from your Cub Account. Make sure to maintain a balance in your Cub Account so that you receive your awards at the pack meeting after you earn them. You can make a payment to our Treasurer to credit the Cub Account.
